As part of the semester project in the second semester of the Mobile Master's class, Michaela Buschberger and I implemented the mobile app "FeliCity". The app is a sightseeing app that offers users the opportunity to visit the city by navigating through categories such as Art & Culture, Pure Nature or History. The app also contains information on the individual sights.
In the second semester, the cooperation between the Master's classes was also planned as part of another course. We were therefore lucky enough to be able to commission three colleagues to support us in creating the content.
Functions
First of all, after installing the app, onboarding is offered to show the user the various functions right at the start. After registering or logging in, a user has the option of viewing the available cities. At the moment it is possible to explore Linz and Vienna. The cities that will be available in the future are also listed here but cannot yet be selected.
After selecting a city, the available categories and the available sights are displayed. You can also take a closer look at the individual sights and get basic information about each place.
A large part of the app consists of planning routes. A user can view the routes they have already created and also save the published routes of other users and go at a later time.
For route planning, we have a configurator. By entering several parameters, a collection of points of interest is delivered from the backend, which the user can further edit in the frontend before saving and walking.
How to continue...
We still have many ideas on how we can make FeliCity even better. But the first steps will certainly be to complete the basic functionality of navigation, and we still have some bug fixes to make. Our goal here would be to publish the app and possibly develop it for iOS.
